stupid Facebook app, news feed sorting

OK, I'm being blind, but is it me or does the latest layout of the book face app no longer have the cog to change the order of the news feed? Where is it? I want it in the chronological order. My mobile had the order set eighth and after it was updated, the order was still set to newest first, yet on the tablet, the order is random crap first.

I have no left hand menu in version 7.0.0 of the app. That's been moved to the right, and as I said there is no cog to change the display setting in that moved menu either.

Tapping the cog works for me, Android. Helps if you say what platform your on.

had a good look in the new app and i cant see it either looks like they have removed the option.

Looks like they selected you to use the new flat Facebook layout. This isn't based on a version as it's turned on server end. Tapping the four bars on the right should bring up the preferences. Well, it does on the old one anyway. I've not used the new one so can't say for sure.

That sucks. I never understood why "Top stories" is the default, I much prefer "Most recent".

Same, the web version will sometimes revert to top stories for me too.

The quick solution is just to use the web version for recent feeds. It's plenty quick and employs the old interface:

What bothers me as well on the iOS version is that it never remembers that you want Most Recent, I always have to switch it back every single time I launch the damn app.

The android version of the app had the same issue for a long time, then it was resolved.

I'm wondering if there is an app that allows you to interrogate the app settings and make changes to them, as my phone which upgraded to this version, orders it correctly based on the setting that I had set in the old version.

I have moved to using m.facebook.com instead as the Android app has got far too many issues.
