Didnt have time to look, but I assume (god I hope), that the remote I had for my older gen iPod (5), will work on the touch, also, will it still be compatible with my Bose Sound Dock?

ahhhh sweet, even better.

No I didnt realise you got one with it, I jusr assummed as Bose had released new adapters as new models came out...........its all good!

And remember to refer to the iPod Touch Jail Break thread - jail breaking the iPod unlocks you to a lot more than what the default can provide - it's safe and not entirely illegal (bit of a grey area me thinks)

I was looking for that thread the yesterday.. Couldn't find it?

Beside's I need to force my Bro to get it for me while he is in the US, but yea Ill be getting one then.

I'm a Doctor, trust me :p

Jokes aside, I've actually Jailbroken mine within the first week of release of the Jailbreak app by some 14 year old for Mac OS. Last I've heard, they've made it easier with a simple website to visit and follow now...

After Jailbreak, I can't stop wonder why has Apple not made it more open for us end users - paying £250 for a device, I would expect more than just the default :D So far, I'm very pleased with the iPod Touch + after jailbreak, only thing thats annoying me is it's inability to connect to 802.1X - only WAP... :(

My theme is still a work in progress, I tried pink-a-fying the icons but they looked horrid. :(

Nice, erm, Pink-a-fying :D

Seems like the Jilbreak is the thing to do, the only danger I face is the Boss just had Wirless installed...so this device could land me in a lot of trouble:p

Depending on what wireless he's installed, if it's WPA, you'll easily connect online and might keep taking breaks watching YouTube:p
but if it's WPA Enterprise, 802.1X, then it's a defo no wireless connection to them.

If your local/work area has Cloud Wifi connections, sign up to them. £3.99 a month for unlimited wireless connection with your iPod Touch

Just checking them out, thanks.

Edit: lolcakes at Alex and Kevin for the Contacts icon. :o

Edit2: Mines working on WPA2-Personal too. :)

Will try mixed, whatever that is. o_0

Must be WPA, because
A: he doesnt have a clue about these things
B: It looks to be just a normal Netgear Routher/ Wilress acess point, and really he just needs it for the router, we have no wirless devices in work....

....yet;)

So, it works on WPA2-Mixed, which apparently has TKIP + AES encryption, making mine the most secure network in the neighbourhood, as well as most comically named, woot woot. :p

Im thinking about getting one of these for xmas, but im confused by all this wireless internet stuff you lot are talking about.

I thought it used Wifi? but whats the deal with it not using 802.1x? I thought that pretty much was Wifi? Also, what speeds are WAP?

WAP is just the encryption on it, so whatever speed you set your router for. :)

I'm not sure if the Touch supports N or not, but it works fine with G. :)
