Hi guys, Having a few issues with the amount of dust my system is pulling in. The case i have is Lian Li PC65 I have 2 deltas (80mm, Yes i am already deaf :p ) pulling air in. Problem is, the dust they pull in is madness.

I have a can of compressed air, but whats the best way to remove it from case ? The air just moves the dust to another place to settle again.

Is it safe to hoover from a distance ? Or do you guys have a better method ?

Any pointers, or help would be gratefully recieved !!

Cheers in advance.

Never had any problmes here using a hoover, just be carefull, dont get too close to the components.

Also think about getting some filters for your fan intakes, ive heard a pair of tights are just the trick ;)

Take the pc outside then give it blow down with the compressed air(make sure it not raining/snowing etc) lol. Or get a little mini PC hoover The good quality ones are exellent!

If your using a hoover, make sure you take the fans out first as they can be damaged if they are spun the wrong way with to much force.

Best method is a can of compressed air outside as Shilz has said, its the quickest and most effective, the little nozzles on them can go everywhere.

You need to follow the instructions on it to a T, shouldnt spray that much :p

If you hold them at the wrong angle they can though.

I bought a can of compressed air and if u press hard it sprays liquid too! doh!
The gas is stored in the can in liquid form, it should evaporate straight away and i doubt itll cause any harm, but its obviously not a good idea to use with pc on just incase its conductive. I think ill get a can and give it a whirl, Ive got a bit of dust built up inside my arctic silencer and i cba removing it from the gfx card so hopefully it'll blast the dust out, plus theres a fine layer on top id like to remove for cosmetic reasons.

Tried the above techinique last night, worked a dream. I now have a dust free case for a few more weeks (damn those deltas :p). Thanks for all the help guys.

I didnt get any liquid from the can i was using. It was very very cold, infact it was so cold after using it, the outside of the can had formed a layer of ice :O . When u spray it in a localised area for a long period of time, you get a white layer, but im sure thats down to the fact that its so damned cold. Didnt do my system any harm. So all is well.

Glad it worked fine for you!

If you want some cheap dust filters, get some tights and stretch them over the fan, works a treat with fans like deltas especially ;)

Well, i have got the standard Mesh and Insert filter that comes with the pc65, But that doesnt stop much of the dust at all TBH. I may well try the Tight method, Im sure nag will be happy......(not :D)

The foam filters work quite well as well, this is my filter after a few months use, i clean it weekly now by chucking it in the wash.

LOL - Ok, its reasuring to know that mine is not the only filter that looks like that. Nag has been released of the 'dusting' everyday, and is now allowed to eat back at the table opposed to the 'basement' :D

a can of compressed air is really good but they're expensive, they're around £6 a can, and they go pretty quick. They're good but do cost quite a lot. To avoid liquid being sprayed dont shake the can before use (it says on the tin, but i automatically done it :p so i waited a while before using)

I was looking into purchasing one of the sorta heavy duty air compressors the ones that plug into the mains, nothing big just enough to give my case a good blow out.... anyone got one of these?
