Hi guys, i've just purchased the 'WHISPER M SERIES 850W 80 PLUS GOLD MODULAR POWER SUPPLY' PSU from Overclockers and am curios to know if the Kettle lead im using in my current PSU will work with it? My current PSU is a Corsair 550w Semi-Modular. I ask because i use a 4m cable for my PC so would need to order another if it wasn't correct.

I have no idea if i need a specific A (some say 5 some say 13) or what V Kettle lead.

Was looking at something like this on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Guilty-Gad...words=Kettle+Plug+pc+3m&qid=1574186209&sr=8-8

Most kettles are 2000-3000W, which is quite a lot more than your 850W power supply!

The "A" rating refers to the current flow, measured in Amps. Amps = Watts / Volts, so your 850W PSU draws (850/240) = 3.54 Amps. This would mean that a 5A fuse would be sufficient.

There is no such thing as a "kettle" lead, unless you are talking about one that is permanently connected to a kettle. :p

What you are colloquially referring to is an IEC C13 connector. These are used in a wide range of equipment and are interchangeable.
The only consideration will be if the cable is rated and fused for the application, which it almost certainly will be if it came from an existing PSU.

TLDR: it's fine.
