I don't want to sound stupid but I have Sky's max package, would I be using ADSL2+ or LLU. I ask as i thought that LLU was only used on ADSL, and for any package above 8Mb would have to be using ADSL2 upto 16Mb and 2+ from there upto 24Mb.

correct me if I am wrong

Both.

No. LLU could be anything - ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+, VDSL, SDSL - it's just a process where another operator than BT installing their equipment in the exchange.

Correct, though most wouldn't use ADSL2 as a distinct offering from ADSL2+.

thanks tolien for clearing that up for me :D .
Just a shame BT won't allow fibre to building to allow higher speeds than 24Mb, would come in handy when IPTV in HD is in use

IF BT's network was as good as NTL's cable last I read that could sustain 50Mb, show just how naff the infustructure is. but at the end of the day it all comes down to how little of their profit they want to eat away at

If only NTL cable was available to 99.6% of households, but I'm not getting into the tired old argument between NTL's newer and BT's aged access networks.

Yet it's creaking with 10Mbps in some areas.
