Stupid rules

I was constantly told not to support Manchester City football club for some weird reason.

For some reason my parents kept saying 'keep off the main road' for years.

(gets coat) :p

6g of salt is your rda, and iirc 2l water is your rda. If you are a bigger person, you'll need more water and salt, but also if you drink more water, you can drink more salt, as it comes out every time you pee.

If you like a lot of salt, drink a lot of water. :)

My next door neighbours mum was crazy, no matter what the kids were doing they would end up killing themselves apparntly! she used to scream it at them all the time!

"Don't run near the fence it'll kill you!"
"Don't pick that up it'll kill you!" (This would usually be something that would not kill you - a stick, plastic plantpot, stone, toy)
"Don't sit in the mud it'll kill you!"

No wonder those kids were freaks!

I used to add salt into my food but now i dont, have no idea why ive stopped as i like the taste of salt.
Also i drink about 70% milk and 30% orange squash. Theres never any fizzy drinks in my home.

One silly rule my said was
"Dont drink lemonade(when we used to have it) before sleep as it will give you headachs" I have no idea how this is possible.:confused:

ewwww 70% milk and 30% orange squash

that would be kind of horrid in one drink :D

My mum use to ban me from playing with the other kids.... That was kinda stupid...

How old were you when she said this? if you were in your 20's+ then I could understand :p

I never really got given rules, my mum was very leinient, probably a bit too much really lol.

No swearing
No biting my sister when I'm 3
No drinking the Baby-Bio
No drinking hot chocolate in bed and spilling it all

Daft, eh?!

And when they tell you not to run in the corridors in school, if you run and you fall over, its your own stupid fault surely?
Rules like that are in place to teach you discipline and to teach you that there are rules that need to be obeyed. Too many kids these days have no respect, self control and no manners simply because they weren't taught this simple lesson.

My Dad for example used to always tell me off if I read the newspaper at the table, even if I was just sitting there on my own. Now I have this thing where I quite like reading when im eating, which im sure is as a result of this.

My Dad was the same. I could understand if there was more than one person at the table but when it was just me on my own at the table I didn't really get the rule then!

My mum used to always tell me not to go near the lead for the iron because it was electrified when it was on,

even now I am scared to touch the iron lead :D
Years ago they used to have fabric insulation and when they got wet, yes they were definitely electrified :D

My neighbour told her kids that when the ice cream van played music, it was to let you know that they had run out of ice cream.

From my childhood, and I'm sure from many others:-

Stop crying or I'll give you something to cry about.

Im loving these theyre great.

"Dont go out without your shoes on."

Thats another thing I do today unless its wet. Im rebelling against my parents in my adult years :D

My Mum used to tell us that we'd end up stranded at sea if we carried on playing with polystyrene rafts in the River Trent.

Not really a rule but I used to get told that if I was being naughty or causing a fuss that big foot would come and take me away, so whenever I started they would shout "BIG FOOOOT!" and bang on the wall or floor and I'd run off scared.

Lmao your parents & neighbour are evil, i love it :p

I know, so stupid... instead they should encourage running and setup cctv cameras to capture the funny moments when they fall over or run into each other....

£250 a tape... not a bad little earner

anyway, the one thing I thought of when reading this post was when we were in year 6 and on mondays we would all go to the hall and because we were the oldest in the school we would sit at the back... but they didnt let us lean against the wall... which I think is pretty stupid

My parents didn't really ever give me rules (apart from the obvious ones)

I hate when kids are made to sit at the table untill they've eaten everything, or fed things you know they dont like... no idea why parents do that
