Stupid Windows Experience Index thing!

I know this isn't a big deal, but it's annoying me!

I have q6600, 8800gt, 4gb 800mhz ram, 500gb HDD, all at stock speeds. When I run the windows experience index thing I get 5.9 (the highest) on everything except memory, where I only get 4.5 (thus bringing my overall score down to 4.5).

Anyone any idea why it's so low? I recently upgraded from 667mhz ram to 800mhz ram and it only went from 4.3 to 4.5 so I can't imagine getting faster memory would increase the score much.

grr!

my PC6400 running at 1000mhz gets 5.9, so yours, I'dd imagine, should be ~5.6/7..

tho tbh, I'd much more rely on tests like superpi ;)

vista ultimate x64 + 4gb of 800mhz stuff = 5.9 here? strange.

not that it matters is the slightest :p

you can trump me anyway, stupid harddrive gets 5.3.

i found upping the voltage in bios got my 6400@800mhz from 4.8 to 5.9. It s a at +0.3 volts over the bios stock (controlled by the motherboard i assume).

thats odd, i'm getting 5.9 for RAM on mine, thats with 2gb ocz 4-4-4-15 running at 387MHz on an i945 board, your setup should easily be better.

Dear God, why on earth would you even consider buying newer hardware to increase a Vista index score... especially when you have 4GB of PC6400 RAM... *weeps*

I know it doesn't matter, its just bugging me! I'm not losing any sleep over this guys, trust me on that ;) but I'm buggered if I can figure out why my memory score is so duff. Surely adjusting the timings wouldn't make the difference between a score of 4.5 and 5.9??

Oh well, never mind eh.
