Yup! The lure to "press any key" is strong.

Made an unattended Win7 CD.. gave it to a colleague who proceeded to see his backup drive auto-formatted..

Pressed shutdown instead of restart on a machine 3 hours away without iLo or WOL..

The stupidest thing I did, was when formatting Windows.

Put the CD in the drive
Reboot machine
Pressed spacebar when promoted to push any key
Went through formatting / installing of Windows
Reboot
Pressed spacebar when promoted to push any key
Went through forma.... hey, what?

Another.. remote configuring my HTPC via screen sharing over Wi-Fi. Decided I wanted to hard wire it instead, so was configuring the LAN settings when I decided to click "Turn off Wi-Fi" before I could click apply.

Had to dig out a monitor, and faff around. Muchos annoying.

I just knocked a large glass of Shiraz over onto my MacBook, which ofc was on at the time. I quickly powered it off and mopped everything up with kitchen roll, but it won't boot now.

It's currently in the airing cupboard now, hopefully it'll work when it dries out, if not I'll be making my first claim on the house insurance.

I did that with a pint of water at the start of the year to my mbp (on standby). Ended up taking it to apple and looked VERY confused, they fixed it on apple care thankfully (got really lucky)

Threw half a litre of coolant over my mobo and GPU a couple of times draining my WC loop, both we're fine after being left in the airing cupboard for a couple of hours

killed a mobo and Athlon II X4 620 with 1.7v doing some "extreme" overclocking (IBT @ 4.5ghz

Why would you have a headless HTPC?Isn't the point of HTPC's to display media through front end software i.e xbmc?
