Stupidest thing you have done with a computer?

also, not exactly something I did, but kinda stupid/geeky of me I suppose :p
friend was on a school computer, in dos, so for fun i just told her to type "del *.*" kinda figured she knew enough not to do something like that (we were in a computer science class learning C++). she did it anyway and I kinda freaked when she pressed enter cause I thought I might get blamed if something happened.

Luckily, she was dumb enough that when I said type that, she typed it exactly. never put a space between del and *.* :p hehe
I accepted a script that did this about 6 years ago, not knowing that it would do that, obviously. I was told it was an IRC bot that would automatically set itself up. :o

Flooding the college network with net send messages, which in the end, everyone in the class started doing it. Almost got chucked off my college course.

Why would you do that?

Had a discussion with 2 of my mates from my old gaming clan and one of them said that its the minerals in the water which damage electronics and pure water can be ok for them depending on use.
So I just put the theory to test with my old pentium 1 at my mates house and then just poured boiled water into it.

While playing about with my first PC and windows 95 I decided to play about with a tweak program, changing the Start menu to say boobs and the usual things a 14 year old gets up to. I got to an option which said "Disable GUI" not knowing what the GUI was I pressed the button.

About 10seconds later I'd buggered up the computer with no idea how to fix it, later finding out GUI was short for Graphical User Interface! Took me a month to fix the problem.

Put my willy in the cd drive (big cd drive) :p cos a girl i fancied was on the screen.

(not really)

But I did once cake a processor (athlon 2800 i think it was) in thermal compound and destroyed it! :p

You can't deionize water by boiling it :(

Probably signing up to here  I spend far too much time here!

For the people I've met it was also one of the best things I've ever done too though
