Stupidest thing you have done with a computer?

Think I've mentioned this elsewhere before but my stupidest moment with a PC was rewiring several Molex connectors wrong after having resleeved a PSU (back before they came sleeved) resulting in losing 2 hard drives (one of which was in a RAID 0 array) and a DVDRW. :(

Plugging in the power on a machine from abroad and not changing the red switch on the PSU. Made a nice bang and stank out the workplace.

I've over time commited mobo genocide while trying to remove heatsinks, the old style ones you had to lever off. Knife slipped, hole in mobo ensued, have literally killed 4/5 mobos in this manner. When they started doing the mobos with the flip lever rather than the old style ones it was like i'd gone to heaven early.

Deciding to watch my graphics card in flames for about 15 seconds before the flames got too bad and risked setting the rest of my computer alight!

Loaning your laptop to Gary Glitter would probably be the most stupid thing you could possibly do with a computer tbh

Plugging in a fan while my rig was on & shorted a molex plug. A bang later, 2 hours bricking myself while I found out whether or not my rig survived.

Buying an old server with 6 10,000RPM drives in a RAID array and wondering why I wasn't getting the whole amount of space so I ripped some of them out and chucked them away thinking they were broken...

I remember trying to stick one of those old Pentium slot processors that a friend gave me into a PCI slot. Tried so hard for ages and got really annoyed. I was pretty young and luckily I didn't break anything.

Hoovering out my PC... while it was turned on... then me knocking my ACF7 with the end of the hoover and it falling off in my hand. Never shut down a PC so fast in my life.

okay maybe I should give mine:
[1] Got out of the shower and left a wet towel on my brand new Toshy
[2] Picked my macbook put buy the screen and it cracked
[3] Kept half of the case (you know what I mean the ones where they have handles so you can get easy access to the MB etc) open, yawned, stretched out my legs and disloged my GPU, breaking (surprisingly) the MB broken :(

was tinkering about inside the case whilst it was still on, sorting cable ties and other bits and bobs after finishing a new build, anywho, i had to snip a cable tie as it wasn't in as good a location as i though, no problem, 'i'll just clip it off' i thought, *clip* clippers cut straight into the cable don't they >.< brand new computer goes dead...****

it did eventually work fine (after replacing the wire :( ), closest i've come to really totaling a build i think

Only have a few, none as bad as the others in this thread though.

1. In 1995 (?) fiddled about with graphics drivers not knowing what they even were, messed up the graphics big time.
2. Laptop CPU overheated, was factory glued to mobo, and thinking the CPU was faulty, i chiselled it away from the mobo. Worked fine after i cleaned the fans and reseated the CPU.

I'm too sensible for this thread :(
