In 3DMark 01 I got a score of about 4500
and in 03 I got about 5000  how can it be higher than 01 (>_<)

And also aqua mark was 44K.

Spec:
4400 X2 @ 2.45
Corsair 1GB 2-3-2-5 @ 220Mhz
6800GS @500/1200

I think I have a setting somewhere, somehow that limits the GPU to a max of 60 Fps.

How could this of been done and how might I change it back.

Go into your Nvidia control panel and make sure Vsynch is set to always off. You dont need to run the whole 3dmark 01 test to find out if it will score high, just look at the FPS in the first car chase test. Should go into the hundreds and not stick at 60.

V-sync... What actualy is that, I think I might of enabaled it.

AA at 4x, but 3D marks are application controled.

*edit damn missed my 1111 post at 11:11 by 2minutes for shame :(

If AA is set to 4 in your drivers it overwrites 3dmarks setting. Set it to Application Controlled along with AF and V-Sync.

By the way, V-Sync is a frame rate limiter thing to stop tearing.

Thanks, Makes sense now :p should get some nice scores now, maybe put it back on after the keep the quality images in games.

Only turn it on (AA/AF/V-Sync) in the drivers if the game you're playing doesnt have an option for them in their settings, if they do (which most new games do) just leave everything set to Application Controlled in the control panel and tweak those things in-game. :)

The 4000 in 3dmark 01 is waaay too low to be explained away by vsync  Even with vsync and 4xAA enabled you would be expecting around 20k on that system.

I suspect that you might not have installed chipset drivers - this is a common mistake, and kills CPU performance, when heavy communication with memory is involved. Make sure you have installed the chipset drivers that will have come on a CD with your motherboard.

My system is not slow and when I ran vsynch on on 3dmk01 my score was ridiculously low like this guys.
