GTX 1080

8gb RAM

2 games so far, Arma 3 and GTA V are experiencing intermittent stutters and lagging.

Only happened in the last few days, anyone else experiencing this?

Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings tab > GTA/Arma 3 > Vertical sync drop-down.

If you aren't already, you should use Afterburner/Rivatuner on-screen display options to monitor what's going on with the GPU Power, GPU usage, GPU Core Clock, GPU Memory usage, RAM Usage, GPU Temperature, when you experience the stutters and lagging.

Which GTX 1080 model is it?

What OS are you running ?

If you are having dpc latency issues place your windows power management to high performance until nvidia release a fix for this ...

nvidia are aware of the latency issue

Im on Win 10

What will high performance power management do?

Its the power features of windows balance uses less power speedstep ect there is more too it re power states ect...

Well for me running on win 7 in balanced power settings i get really bad dpc latency with the 1080 once i set too high performance no issues..

give it a go at least select high performance then try the game that have the issues see if it solves it ?

windows search power should bring up your power options

there is allso a thing called cpu unparking not sure if your cpu parks though try the power setting 1st

Power settings changed seemed to work, thanks

I assume this will be addressed by Nvidia in driver update hopefully soon?

I have been getting this with my "new" 780ti yet didn't with my old SLI 580's, setting power to high performance cured it for me.

Glad it worked for you ;)

re nvidia
I am sure it will be fixed in the next driver but question is when ...

I am a disappointed with nvidia and have been for too many years but clients want what they want & i must supply . but this as caused me an headache last couple of days with my sys builds which one does not need TBH..

From nvidia i quote

We believe we understand the root cause and will provide a fix through a future driver. At this time I do not have an ETA but as soon as I have further information, I will share with everyone.

Well done Harney and good work :)

Cheers Gregster ;)
