Stuttering from engine. Oxygen sensor?

Have had my 1.6 1998 Civic Coupé for some years and have had similar symptoms in the past when the oxygen sensor needed changing.

Basically the stuttering presents itself in the early part of second gear and is mostly noticeable when pressing reasonably firmly on the accelerator. It did seem to clear up after about 20 minutes of driving and I could only replicate it a little in third gear early on.

Does it sound like the oxygen sensor? I understand it is a job that one can do but is there any calibration needed? Can anyone recommend a good retailer for the parts?

Sounds more like an ignition problem to me. Check the plugs/leads/dizzy.

o2 sensor faults usually light up the check engine light, it isn't totally fool proof though obviously.

Thanks for that will look into that too. The engine light hasn't come on although I will say, the last time it went, the light did not come on then either.
