Stuttering in every game with a 7950? Hot temps on the CPU? Help needed

sorted (Cooler Master GX 650W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply) sounds like it, get the temps better with a better cooler and you wont have the problem, was asking for the psu type as some have fans that blow straight onto the cpu, which under high load can heat it even more not cool it dependant on psu etc, as your case is a top psu mounted one im guessing as cant tell really for the pic's.

just guess work tbh. but cpu cooler like mentioned above would solve it short term.

from most of the reviews and comment i can find from other forums, seems to be a few that have heat and more loud that it should be issues with it, but warranty is good and does give constant power, but a high number of RMA on a few sites i've looked it, can't link either as other shops and forums, coolmaster not really known for there psu

Yeah - I have experienced stuttering since getting the 7950 - I really thought it was a graphics card issue or some setting I had overlooked. It never dawned on me to check the CPU temps since they've always been fine these past couple of years.

I guess the stock cooler isn't pulling it's weight anymore. Don't really want to try anymore games in case it is doing some serious damage to the CPU.

I guess I'll pick up the K2 Mount Doom and that should resolve the issues. Without Haswell being out I guess it's hard to know, but is there a cooler which is likely to fit my current 1055t, but also the Haswell i5 when it's out next year.

I managed to find the dimensions of my case also :)

Devive Bay: External Drive Bays: 4 x 5.25" ; 7 x 3.25" ( 2 x Exposed; 5 x Hidden)
Cooling System: Front : 1 x12CM LED FAN (Optional) ; Rea: 1 x 12 CM FAN ; Side x 12CM FAN (Optional)
M/B Type: ATX, Micro ATX
I/O Panel: 2X USB 2.0 Ports / Audio Jack
Dimensions: 486x203x413mm (L,W,H)
Expansion Slots: Standard ATX 7 slots

all 3 case fans right way, 1 pulling cool air in, 2 sucking warm air out?

case not up against a wall or near a rad? so plenty of space for clean cool air?

sounds like passey89 hit it on the head tbh, but with better cooling you will get no where near those temps.

Just to let you guys know what happened. I had to go for this cooler because of my tall RAM and using all four slots. Saying that.... I was extremely surprised how good it actually performed. I now sit on 21 idle with max temps of 55 under load. This was vs 37 idle and on 67 under load, so a really massive improvement.

Just for anyone else in the same position, this cooler doesn't block any of the RAM slots.

only game im now getting errors on is farcry3, very high temps and the odd freeze on high and ultra after 10 to 20 mins of playing, pc just locks up.

turn it down to medium to high on dx11 and not an error at all with the latest beta drivers and cap installed.

in every other game i own all is well, so im now guessing it's the game for me and not an issue with chip or cooling, just drivers and coding.

but glad your sorted
