STX stopped working - need an amp for HD600

In the interest of saving £100 do you think I will hear a difference between using a modi 2 and my E10K purely as a DAC?
 
There probably won't be a huge difference but there will be one, the Modi 2 is a better DAC. As to whether you notice it, that depends on how sensitive your hearing is, I probably wouldn't (old ears) :D

Aesthetics is one very good reason for the Modi though, they do look very good stacked together. ;)
