Hi.

On the lookout for a new keyboard. There's a good chance that the room where my PC is will be badly lit so it'd be handy to have a back lit keyboard to make things slightly easier.

It will most likely be used for word processing so should be comfortable to use. Most of the ones I've seen are ugly, aggressive looking keyboards designed specifically for gaming. I'm looking for something a little more stylish that won't break the bank.

Any manufactures I should check out? Thanks.

Thanks for your response!

I like the look of that. Definitely the sort of thing I'm after. What should I consider when buying a keyboard these days? Bear in mind I don't really use my PC for gaming.

I was fed up with my huge "gaming" Razer Tarantula keyboard, so I have just got myself a Corsair K65 RGB :)

It's a 10-key less keyboard (so it doesn't have the number pad), there is a very small bezel around the keys, and the finish is brushed aluminium. There is a very small "Corsair Gaming" logo above the F7/F8 keys, but other than that, it's very clean.

The RGB lights allow you to customise how you want it to look - I currently have an orange/white colour scheme, with the keys gently fading colours as I type (a "reactive" typing effect) - and I've programmed it to flash the caps lock/insert keys if I have Caps Lock or Insert (overwrite) enabled.

The mechanical keys are very nice to type on (I'm a software developer, so do quite a lot of typing daily! I had originally thought about a Mini keyboard, but I make great use of the F1-F12 keys), if a little noisier than the old rubber dome keyboards. (But, as I'm at home on my own most of the time, it doesn't really matter much to me how much noise it makes)

YOUR BASKET
1 x Corsair Gaming CGK65 RGB Cherry MX Red Tenkeyless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (CH-9000072-UK) £119.99
Total : £129.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

The wrist rest is thankfully detachable (and isn't fitted to the keyboard in the box) - so it's never even been removed from my box, I much prefer it without the wrist rest.

I have the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard. Not a gaming keyboard in any way and not mechanical. Still stylish IMHO :)

If i was getting a new keyboard it would either be a k95 or the M800.

Yeah I have the logitech k810. Sounds like a phone from the old Sony Ericsson days but a cracking keyboard. Bluetooth and back lit. I love mine
