Sub £100 GPU ATI or Nvidia?

I am looking to do something similar myself. The fan on the 8400GS in my 3rd PC has given up so i am planning on moving my 8800GTX over from PC no2. So I need a replacement for it (Q6600 @3.2). I spotted you can get an XFX 4870 1GB for £99. Should I go for this or a 5770 1GB for £10 more?

If you aren't going to upgrade within the year and/or your mobo doesn't support Crossfire, then Radeon 4890 will be a clear winner here and can be had for just under £125 which is a bargain! It will be significantly faster than 5770 in almost any game out there but lacks DirectX11 (not much of a flaw atm) and will use some more power.

C'mon people, 5770 is a wise choice for anyone who wants to game at lower res. than Full HD or desperately needs DirectX11 for whatever reason. It's also a great value if you plan to Crossfire it but even 4870 is slightly faster (though much hotter, not as power efficient and uses older tech.).

I don't really see a point of recommending 5770 over 4890 to anyone who does not wish to upgrade within a year or two.
