Sub-1k System?

Hi All,

I wouldn't mind some help picking the components for a sub-1k system.

I already have a Corsair 600T case and a 27" Hasro screen so they don't factor into the cost.

I'm not a high end gamer by any means (more of a 360 fan!) so it doesn't need to play games at the highest possible settings.

I do a lot of design work though, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, and a bit of 3D Studio Max.

So i was looking at 16gb memory as the amount of layers and/or polygons i work with slows my old pc down to a crawl.

I wanted to get SATA-3 components if possible so it's more futureproof, USB3 etc.

Also i'm not unsure whether to go for Core i5 or i7, but if overclocking is as easy as it sounds on here i'll probably do that.

One of the main factors for me is that the system runs cold/quiet!

Cheers Guys,

Just a few questions while i work out what i do/don't need,

Is there a reason to get the motherboard separately, is that one better than the in these 2 bundles:
Intel Core i7 2600K & Asus P8P67 Pro Intel P67 Mainboard **B3 Revision**
or:
Intel Core i7 2600K & Asus P8Z68-V PRO Intel Z68 Mainboard?

Also, with the cpu cooler, as the window of the case is transparent, is there anything "better looking".

Just out of curiosity i wouldn't mind installing some lights or lit-up cables etc for inside it

Will i need to buy any thermal compound or will it come with the paste applied (i.e. i can just set up and go when it all arrives without having to make any trips to the shops )
