Trying to spec a graphics card to go with my new system, but have a slight problem in that the monitor I got a couple of months ago only has a standard 15-pin d-sub input.

I ideally need a card with 512mb, but it must be under £50 including the vat.

Or are DVI -D-sub adapters available?

This is what's currently planned, really cant afford much more than £250. I'm not a heavy gamer at all, this is mainly a well overdue upgrade that needs to run SL well.

I recommend getting the Asrock 4CoreDual-SATAII motherboard, that way you can upgrade in stages if £250 is all you can afford right now.

I did look into that mobo a while back, but seeing as I'd still need the processor, and some RAM (curently only got pc-2100), it seemed to make more sense to save up and go all out, especially when my current drives and graphics are really starting to show their age.

That'd be fine if I was buying this week, but it's going to be another month or so before I can buy anything.

Edit: just ran 3Dmark03, and got a whopping 631, OUCH!
