I'm looking for a replacement sub to run off my Marantz SR6005 as I'm currently using some old Yamaha sub after my Celestion S10 decided to pop.

My budget is around the £200 mark (would like to spend more but can't justify at the moment) and have been looking at the 'Tannoy HTS101' or the 'Mordaunt Short Alumni 9' but haven't seen these in the flesh and have no way to see any thing decent in action as locally there is as good as no choice (JVC, Pioneer and that's about it).

Any suggestions, preferably from personal experience, would be appreciated please!

If your willing to go second hand, you might be able to get a BK XLS 200 for under £200.

Another vote here for the Gemini II.

I have both a Gemini II and a Tannoy HTS sub.

The gemini II is cleaner and crisper, you don't get the air warble that you do with a ported sub, instead, cleaner tighter bass.

oooohhh eeerrr :D

any thing made made by BK,

Thread - closed :D

i got a Gemini 2, more than happy with it

you also need to take into account if you get one from BK you could be looking at a 30 day + waiting list
