Has anyone got any recommendations , I'm using Pactcoffee at the moment purely because it came with a free trial with my coffee machine.

Nothing to complain about but just feel like I've fallen for the marketing gimmick so fancy a change :p

Suggestions ?

HasBean are good and offer a sub service. I'm sure many of the other big name roasters do too :)

Personally though I order a lot of coffee I prefer choosing my own each time.

I'm going to sound like I'm trying to pimp HasBean but I'm really only mentioning it because I've not got round to trying some of the other very good big names.

Anyhow..HasBean don't have a huge range of decaf stuff but the stuff they do have is very good.

I'm actually running into the same now I look. They certainly had more than one option available last time I checked (which was a while ago when a friend gave up caffeine for a bit) :/

I looked at Hasbean as well , I like the idea of the SUB as you don't have to physically order it or remember to.I'll maybe stick with pact for a while and then swap.

Having tried some of the Pact stuff I really don't rate it to be honest. I reckon you'll be impressed if you move to HB, Rave, or the like :)

I've been with Pact for a while, mainly because I just never get round to cancelling after i joined for the intro £1 bag :p It's nice enough coffee in my opinion but I'm not a major expert! Need to get a grinder and start ordering beans before I both about what I'm getting too much..

I been with Pact for awhile, They are very convenient.

But i have recently cancelled and going to start just ordering some bags from various places and see how i find them got a few bags coming my way from Rave as there is also a 20% discount for newsletter signup.

After reading the latest replies I might look into further tomorrow after all! Hasbean seems to be the go to one.

I know of a few local ones but they don't do a subscription based service which is slightly annoying

I'm a Hasbean chap. Now into my 5th(?) year of In My Mug subscription...
And my 2nd year of Steve's Super Secret Stash Subscription.

Occasionally get a coffee that is just No... Not for me. But it's rare, plus I can always nip into London and get any number of different roasters coffee there.

Given your location give york coffee emporium a go. They supply most of the trendy cafes in York and do a subscription service. Do all their own roasting etc

I used to have hasbean on subscription, the only reason I cancelled is that I was finding some months I'd want it sooner than monthly, others later than monthly. Pact was really good because you can request it sooner or delay it. But the Pact coffee wasn't quite as good as Hasbean,Rave and others.

At the month I'm just buying stuff as and when I want/need it - it works out more expensive but at least I can pick and choose between different roasters. It's a shame places like Hasbean don't offer a delivery subscription where you pay £xx a year and get free delivery.

Thanks for the suggestion I've ordered from them before but didn't realise they did a sub service.

Just signed up for 2x200g for £12 every fortnight delivered seems reasonable to me.

Yeah they started it recently after they moved to bigger premises :)

keep an eye out for Nicaragua Finca El Bosque Coffee Lot 3. its delish

but personally I prefer trying random places each month :)

This. I try to see if there are offers on at various roasters. Not ordered online since March TBH as I bought in bulk from the London Coffee festival & my day trip to Brighton last month. Hasbean are doing 4 x 250g Single Origin beans from the same farm. Link:

Offer is on the page at just under a fiver a bag, which I think is pretty good TBH. I've not ordered from hasbean for over a year so It'll be good to go back to them this time methinks.

I can understand people wanting to choose their own beans however I'm slightly lazy and prefer the coffee just turning up.

I know I'll get some dross but no doubt I'll get mostly decent coffee and I'm supporting a local business which I like to do if possible.

Thanks again for the suggestions.
