Subway - Bacon-less rant!

Im ranting only because im now gagging for a good subway melt or recently the new breakfast range!

I wish they could limit the amount of Halal Subway franchises that open as out of the 7 in my end of Bradford and the centre of town only 2 do non halal and there both miles away from me compared to the rest!

Now this rant is both pointless and pathetic but around these parts its near impossible to get any sort of take out food with bacon in apart from McDonald's!

Instead of making what used to be a less than 1 return mile trip to get bacon in my subs or on my KFC burgers i now have to do an 8 mile round trip! :mad:

Now someone bring me some bacon!!

Nope Im sure halal regulations state it cannot be stored/transported or prepared/server near non halal foods.

Yea but theres times you want a greasy KFC burger covered in bacon or a subway!

Luckily one of the 2 non halal Bradford stores is close to work, i shall go get my fix!

Im not trying to state that Muslims should not be allowed their halal stores but not when it hinders the rest of us who want to a burger or sarnie covered in bacon! Yes there are cafe's and such that do this but we should still have access to the same franchise as it should be and not just filtered for Muslims. Even more so when 95% of franchises around here are all Halal!

Dont get me wrong im not ignorant of other races and cultures opening up anything over here. Well, in moderation, far too many of my local chippys now sell donner meat with ya fish and chips....!

My only grind is advertisement for a dirty processed meat sausage and bacon sarnie, even on the door of the shop it displays this but instead i get a turkey replica! My other issue been with the regulation of the stores. Subway seem to be pretty strict in regards to where you can open and how close but non to ratios of halal and non halal. <--- suppose thats just an issue with franchises though!

Yea your right i think it was last year they released an article that showed a lot of the major supermarkets were selling halal meat without displaying it on the packaging!

They just switch out all pork for turkey products in subway!

I have absolutely no problem with muslims eating their halal stuff, it's just when there is no choice of KFC/Pizza Hut/Subway left for bacon eaters, it's a bit of a joke.

Same, if the ethnic minority is only 18% in Bradford why is over 70% of the franchises Halal? Someone must have their figures mixed up!

Still though, it's a privately owned franchise, they can sell what they like. Subway is horrible, you'd be better off buying a pack of bacon and making your own. Cheaper too

No, i do not have any issues with any other 'halal' franchise, nor do i have an issue with this. My only concern is that in what is meant to be a city with the majority been Caucasian/Christian 'we' as a demographic have the least available options now when it comes to eating out at particular franchises and other places.
Im not ignorant to other beliefs or cultures nor do i think they should be dismissed or ignored, i may not follow or believe in them but for one reason or another other people do and have the right to practice and follows those beliefs. It just feels that in recent years in this city the beliefs and needs of the 'minority ethnic' groups far out ways that of the locals and slowly feels like 'we' if we are still a majority are been pushed out.
I do not agree with cheats's attitude towards it but i can see his point.
I cannot walk around 95% of this city due to feeling and been treated like an uninvited minority.
This city and a few others just need more balance, if we keep up this splitting franchises and especially leaving out the native folk we really are going to have a fully segregated society that integrate even worse with each other than they currently do.

Yea i get this and have no real problem as i said before im only annoyed that in what is meant to be a majority 'whitey lot' city we seem to be pushed aside by the not so minority.

Im far from slandering Islamic beliefs even if i dont agree with them. Hell i dont believe anyone should start following the instructions passed down by a 'god' especially when they make no sense at all but each to their own.
