Seen mentions of the situation popping up over some news sites for a while now but holy cow it just seems to be an absolute mess. Not to be confused with the genocide from the early 2000s.

Long-short of it is potentially over 100k civilians massacred by Arab ethnic groups against other ethnic groups (mainly black and Christian). UAE potentially have a hand in it but look to be avoiding any level of investigation and justice because of who they're friends with, oh and the fact that they told the ICJ to do one. Currently listed as the worlds largest hunger and displacement crisis.

The big problem though...nobody seems to give a crap or is doing anything to intervene. The US have made some noise about it happening and started firing out sanctions but that's pretty much it.

Where are the protests? Where are the marches? Where are the activists? Where are the multitude of governments making statements? Best our lot have managed is Cooper asking politely for a ceasefire.

As above...
Where's the outrage, the mass protests in the streets, the calls from politicians for it to end...

Even reading the limited international comments on the situation there's very little. Perfunctory statements from the UK, US and a couple of European states. The EU have basically said stoppit and the AN the same. Surely this screams AN or UN intervention?

Cant wait for the protests in London and local area's about this either....

Oh wait, its selective isn't it.

Sucks for regular Sudan people though, seeing the report of hundreds at a hospital executed and its barely got a news story on BBC.

Sadly it seems to be proving the old adage true, 'no Jews, no news'. Strongly suspect a lot of those that have been making noise about gaza dont actually care and its just a chance for them to have a pop off at Israel.

Some of the newer stories coming out are horrendous. Over 450 killed at a maternity hospital. Ive seen a video of a mother and her 3 kids being shot at point blank range, the kids looked about 1, 2 and 3 years old. Who the **** does that?
Still 0 action from the UN or AN. Still 0 marches from the rentamobs.

there should be, but doesn't mean other protests have to stop on the genocide in gaza, nor should aid stop

But "whatabout elseware" is used by zionists to deflect attention.

Or, the lack of anything indicates an antisemitic focus on Israel because people dont actually give a damn about the victims but just want to bash them?

What is happening in Sudan, and Gaza, is not our business, we are no longer an empire.

My thoughts are similar but also not. It should be all or nothing. We cannot choose to act over one but not the other. The key difference in my eyes is gaza is a war where civilians are (generally) caught in the crossfire, Sudan is simply ethnic cleansing.

Aren't protests usually done to spark action from our government? Israel/Gaza has had lots of protests over here, partly because the UK government has historically supported Israel as an ally and sold weapons to them, thus it makes sense that there would be more protests compared to the current issue in Sudan which has seemingly been under reported on and is occurring in a country that the UK doesn't support with arms sales or consider an ally (to my knowledge. happy to be proven wrong).

They're supported by the UAE. A country with whom we trade arms.
