Hi, I'm hoping someone might be able to help narrow down the root of this problem. I'm pulling my hair out here

Two days ago I was happily running 4 x 4GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 1866Mhz on my ASUS Maximus Gene V using it's XMP profile.

I came home from work last night and tried to boot the system, black screen.

I then tried flipping the power switch for a few seconds and back on, the q code on the motherboard shows 59 "CPU micro-code is not found or micro-code update is failed"

I reset CMOS which allowed me into the BIOS.

Only 8GB of the installed 16GB is recognised. The GPU DIMM post however shows all 4 sticks are installed and running.

I removed the Crucial RAM replaced it with a single 2GB Kingston 1333Mhz. This runs fine and I'm able to boot into Windows with it installed. I have tried this in each of RAM slot and they all run fine with this stick installed.

I then went back to the Crucial RAM installing one stick at a time. I discovered that I'm able to boot with it at 1333Mhz but anything over and above 1333Mhz causes the 59 error code. The BIOS still only recognises 8GB from the 16GB installed

At this point I'm wondering if it's a fault on the motherboard or the IMC or maybe even something else?

I have updated the BIOS to 1903 but the problem persists.

Can anyone help?

THis problem usually resides itself in poor contact, a bent pin or warped board. For sure it could be damaged RAM also.

Install one stick and memtest at XMP. Do this for all the sticks to suggest they work at XMP.

Then cooler off check socket pins. Remount and then go red slots first. Into windows is 8gb shown on properties in Windows.

Hey 8 Pack,

XMP is a no go :( straight to code 59.

I have taken the cooler off and inspected the socket pins and everything looks fine.

I have to manually set 1333Mhz to boot into Windows. 1600Mhz & 1866Mhz gives me q code 59. The 4GB sticks work in each slot but when I have all 4 installed at once only 8GB of it is detected.

I tried the spare Kingston I have at 1600Mhz and that gives me the 59 code too.

So a few days on and I'm thinking the IMC is damaged. Possibly from over stressing it with 4x4GB and temporarily switching back to air cooling. I have ordered a cheap Pentium 1155 CPU to check. To say I'm gutted is an understatement :(

The replacement CPU arrived today but the same thing is still happening :(

I have tried pretty much everything I can think of now. Same error 59 code.

I'm thinking it may be time to RMA the motherboard but I'm still a bit lost to what's going on.

Not sure if anyone is still reading this thread but I finally got this fixed.

Thank ****!! I feel like dancing! :D

I was thinking it was due to a hardware fault.

Turned out to be corrupt ME region which I fixed/reflashed using FTK and the latest 1903 BIOS revision.

Yaaas! :D
