Hi,

I have Windows 7 installed on my desktop pc and yesterday I was trying to install Linux in a usb flash via a dvd from Acer Aspire One. After several restarts one of my disks in the desktop seems not initialized in Windows and all data seems lost. Can I recover it and if yes do you have any ideas?

thanks

I have found force mounting within a live linux build (like knoppix) tends to give it enough of a kick for windows to recognise the disk.

You could always try some freeware called find and mount. Providing it can see the disk (see it in bios etc) it'll look for any partitions and make them avail so you can recover data. Doesn't always work but has got me out of trouble on occasion.
