Really peed off as having spent hours doing a fresh install of XP I was installing some more programmes last night and now Windows freezes at the Windows Shutting Down screen.
Last night I installed NERO 6, fitted a Pioneer DVR-111, upgraded my OS to a genuine version using the MS Genuine Advantage Tool and installed and ran Webseeker SpyWeb.
I did have two glitches 1) I had to unistall and reinstall AVG Free as a file was corrupted and 2) Windows said it had found an updated driver for my Ti4200 GFX which I initially installed but it messed up my Display Settings and as I didn’t want to change them all again I rolled back the driver to my original nVidia one which, according to the nVidia website is the latest version.
I uninstalled SpySeeker having run it and removed about 30 Tracking Cookies in case that was the problem but it didn’t make any difference.
Any ideas why its freezing at Shut Down or how I can resolve? If I hold in the power off button it seems to shut down ok and starts alright though it does seem slower booting up the OS.
I’ve been to the MS Website and found this:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...6d-8912-4e18-b570-42470e2f3582&displaylang=en
but haven’t run it yet as I’d rather know what is causing the problem.
