Hi, would like to know which SSD drive would be best for me. It's shouldn't be a big one, i think 30Gb would be enough.
Will be used to install windows on it and all programs that i use every day. All the games and other stuff will go onto my other Hard Drive as i really don't want to spend hell lot of the money to make my games load a bit faster then they are now.
So mainly i would like to have Eclipse or NetBeans to be ready in couple second.

So which SSD would be the best solution in performance and price?

Thank you.

Bare minimum is 64GB for windows and a couple programs once the updates are on there im sorry to say. If money is tight, why not look for a used one.

As i said, i'm not going to install games on that drive. Only windows 7 ( 15gb max ) and couple of big programs + couple of small ones ( another 5Gb ) that's it...

P.S. Even if it's a 64Gb drive, which would you recommend? And yes, budget isn't very elastic as well. ;)

Still the Crucial M4, but have you considered the OCZ Synapse? It works as a cache so your most frequently currently used software gets on the SSD, be it your work software, games or whatever.

Another vote for the M4 64GB. 30GB will be too small - you need to leave some empty space on the SSD as they don't work as quick when nearly full.

I'd personally go for around a 60gb OCZ Vertex.

I have the 120gb OCZ Vertex and it is stupid quick and CrystalDiskInfo ticks all the right boxes with regards to what is enabled and its performance.

I've also heard good things about the Crucial M4.

Im using a 64 Gb C300 for my OS drive. I wouldnt advise anything smaller, even a 60 Gb drive is going to be lacking space once you have windows fully updated and all your drivers and apps.

You would have to disable page filing to free up space if you want to install any games to it too, though a 64 Gb drive will barely hold any more than a couple of games on top of windows.

If you want an OS + Gaming drive, its best to try and get a 120 Gb SSD at least.

30GB could be enough, if you are careful. Doesn't give you any breathing room though.

I'd avoid the 30GB OCZ drives, poor reliability in my experience. I'd recommend a 40GB Intel if you can pick a second hand one up cheap, but if you're buying new you may as well get a 64GB Crucial M4.
