I have around 9 external hard drives ranging from 4Tb up to 12Tb and they are taking quite a bit of space.. not to mention cables and USB hubs and the like to connect to my machine.
I want to strip out these enclosures.. (most are WD and Samsung externals) and dump them in a JBOD enclosure with just 1 cable and 1 power... and ability to see each individual drive separately
I'm not fussed whether they come with a external power brick.. though having it internal is a bonus. Connection wise.. since the external are mechanicals, does not make much of a different whether they are usb-c or usb3. My mobo doesn't have thunderbolt so no point in that route either.
Obviously an 8 bay is gonna be pricey so looking for 6 bay max at around £400ish. Hot swappable a benefit but not critical
I came across these 2.. but reviews/feedback seem hit and miss
Sabrent USB 3.2 5-Bay 3.5" SATA Hard Drive Tray-less Docking Station (DS-SC5B) *which looks like an Icybox knockoff*
TERRAMASTER D5-300
What do you recommend? and why?
