Suggestions on Build Requested

Well the noctua is a really excellent cooler, better than most water coolers. It's also cheaper, but you could go for the H100i if you wanted to.

That's great then, I'd feel more comfortable using the H100i to be honest. I suppose like its predecessor it has capacity to be configured in push pull (not that it yields a vast advantage).

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to put together build suggestions. They have provided an excellent insight and I am most appreciative.

I'll post my next build spec revision very shortly.

I still do have one sticking point, I know you all recommend these Gigabyte boards and I have been researching the gaming 5 board specifically. Please excuse me for still having some reservations, I have almost always used Asus kit before.

So far I have found that there are some considerations when using XFire/SLI with the SATA express/M.2 ports; that they reduce the number of usable PCI lanes as they route the bandwidth. Additionally something slightly odd - it does not conform to the ATX standard (it's shorter on width than standard ATX). Only an issue when one has a case with a giant CPU cut out. One thing that I cannot find however is much contrasting between these Gigabyte boards and the Asus range, specifically BIOS and software. Yes I could go as far as pulling the technical spec from each respective website and doing it myself but... I thought I'd ask first - wondering about real world experience.

The m.2 on Gigabyte boards do not share PCI-E bandwidth, so the slots remain 16X and 8X/8X for CF/SLI if you use one, instead the SATAIII number 4+5 ports share bandwidth with the m.2 and only one can be used at the same time.

Two differences I can stop already are that the gaming 5 equivalent Asus board features a Thunderbolt header and utilizes an Intel based Ethernet chip over the Killer chip (known to have some irritating issues).

4 year warranty with Gigabyte, been using a Killer NIC based board for awhile now, I'm killing and fraging just as many newbs as I was before.

What ASUS board is it that you are looking at?

That case can take a H105 which has a thicker rad and offers better cooling and is simpler to use due to it not needing CorsairLINK software, the H100i doesn't either but to change fan speed/LED colour it does.

Yeah, I edited that out, wasn't worth mentioning when I saw the price going up and up.

But of course there is always a different case,

Then you just need to recheck which water cooler fits again with some of these.

Ugh, that's just it though, I hate mids... really really wanted to move away from them. The last mid I built, I absolutely packed it full to bursting over time (literally the side panels were bulging). Plus the air flow was horrible - these are all point coming from what I said about running upgrades for x number of years. Tend to fill the case out.

It's actually a full tower I believe, full tower dimensions but branded as a mid or something. The 750D is still awesome though - imo better but more expensive ofc :)

Thank you to everyone who has helped me :) just wanted to say that I really appreciate it. I think I am squared away with my build now, looking forward to playing with the goodies.
