Hi Gang!

Been looking at the Phenom 9600 BE but cannot find any suitable mobos that say they support this cpu and support DDR2 1066!!!!

Am i pushing it abit for those requirements or will it be sometime in the near future?

My system is in dire need of an upgrade and as im a AMD fan i want to stick with them!!

Any ideas:confused:

Thanx!!

Hi and welcome :)

This and this will do both. No idea if they're any good tho.

But seriously have a look at the Intel Q6600 too.

Thanx

I have seen those boards and they look very nice but i was thinking of SLi! and compared to the other boards i have seen they dont come to par if you know what i mean like the top end amd mobos! also i looked at the intel and im not sure, i had a bad experience with intel before, bout 2 yrs ago duno if im ready to go bk :S

In that case you'll be better waiting for the nVidia 780a chipset to appear.

What was your bad experience with Intel?

Most of the Intel users here were AMD fanboys 2 years ago.

currently intel are the leader in the cpu market, with most of the cpus in the C2D/Q range reaching at least 3GHz when being overclocked. for now, to go AMD will not really be that good of an idea, especially as the current amd phenoms seem to be suffering from problems that should hopefully be sorted when the b3 stepping are released.

Hi thanx for the reply,

i cant remeber the cpu i had on my system but at the time the cpu was deliverd and the box was dmaged and then cpu didnt work properly! so after a big comotion from the retailer! (local) i eventually got a new 1, and after it just did not seem worth the hassal, at the time it was sumat like 2nd best intel cpu u could get and as i was in college money was scarse lol then i switched to 3000+ althlon 64 and havent had any problems what so ever! and have never wanted to go back to intel!!!!

but now i think its time 4 an upgrade lol

Sounds more like a courier or postal system issue than an Intel issue.

Q6600 (G0/Energy Efficient version) and a good nVidia 780i based board is the best advice anyone on here can give for a quad-core and SLi based system. The AMD's aren't in the same league.

It's a shame, but it's true.
