Suitable Drive?

I'm about to replace my knackered Maxtor 160gb SATA 1 drive and was thinking of buying this from OCUK
Samsung SpinPoint P SP2004C 200GB SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM (HD-017-SA)
Will it work ok in my ASUS P4P 800 Deluxe straight away or will I need to change any jumper settings on the mobo or the drive??

There aren't jumper settings on SATA drives as such since they are serial there is only one drive per channel

It will work straight off as you are replacing one SATA drive for another, you will obviously have to format it etc as you would normally though.

Thanx. I'm ok with the formatting etc but read on the SATA 2 sticky that some mobos need the jumper setting changed (something to do with the transfer speed) and this is the bit I wasn`t sure about. Are you saying that I will be ok with my mobo?

Your motherboard only supports SATA not SATAII so there is nothing for you to do in regards to transfer rates, it will work automatically as SATAII is designed to be backwards compatible
