Building a cheap rig which is mainly going to be used for Zwift but the odd bit of gaming too,

The cpu in the build is a non k i5 2500 in a h61 so no change to multipliers so will run completely at stock. (Might upgrade this to i7 2700 but cannot find one FS currently)

What would you recommend in terms of a suitable GPU to run along side this for the best possible performance? Don't want to bottleneck or have more power than required, 500w corsair PSU to power.

Currently have a r9 270 to fit into this once its built but think the cpu could handle more than this? Will be purchasing 2nd hand off the MM rather than new to keep costs as low as poss.

Thanks :)

2nd hand...... how about a GTX 970 or GTX 980?

that should be in the £100-150 region and make your pc a genuine 1080p high detail rig on most games.

a gtx 980 was a very good fit for my i5 2500k

albeit admittedly i could, and therefore did overclock mine. i still think a similar GPU will be a nice fit for yours however

Have seen quite a few cheap 970s available so think that might be the best route tbh

edit maybe even a 780ti? second thoughts psu might not cut that

no do not buy into kepler this long after EOL. They do not perform that well anymore.. a 970/980 would be fine or an RX 480 or better if cheap enough.
