Summer Placements

Not sure whether this is the best place to put this. I'm a second year Compski student who's kinda keen to get a summer placement. Am gonna try Step but wondered if anyone else had any suggestions. Thanks!

You should have a department to help you with this. If not you need to just check out company websites and recruitment sites. You'll want to be contacting the larger companies as it's seemingly quite rare for smaller ones to take on summer placement students. They train you up then you **** off, not much incentive for them.

I did a research internship in the Computing department at my university. Do they offer something similar in your department? If not, they might have some recommendations.

I worked at an investment bank during the summer, if you're into that sort of thing try it. There are plenty of banks out there.

I did something like this last summer. I think I'd prefer something in industry this time round though.
