Summer temperatures...

I have noticed that my idle temperatures of the system, cpu and gpu have gone up a fair bit in the last 2 days (usually idles are cpu 31-33, gpu 29-35 depending on how many monitors i have connected), yesterday they were something like 35/35 and today it's 38/40!

Is there anything that can be done to reduce the temperatures? Apart from cooling the room and watercooling, obviously.

Idle temperatures aren't really a barometer of anything useful to be fair. I would check your load temperatures. As your room temperature increases, the temperature of the air being sucked into your PC is going to go up and as such has less cooling potential (assuming all other variables are the same).

If they're acceptable still I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Yeah, to be fair I haven't tested load. Will Heaven & Prime my GPU and CPU now and report the temperatures.

But I guess there will still be a difference between regular load temperatures and current temperatures.

Inevitably yes. You can't do much about it other than artificially cooling your room and you probably won't need to. Your fans will kick in more if needed on your GPU/CPU.

i wouldn't worry about it too much, how often are you running the cpu at 100%?

My cpu temp use to be around 12C but it had gone up to 20C due to heatwave as it always add another 8-12C in the summer and that's is normal. I had try IBT (Intel Burn Test) with 5GHz hitting 88C, 88C, 88C, 83C with vcore of 1.368v under load for 30 mins with maximum load (normally getting 72C, 72C, 72C, 67C) - those temp with i7 2700K.

Get the same deltas all the time, summer overclocks get more reliable for most as the temps rise and instability is noticed and rectified. Miss having a winter chill to suddenly cool the rads tho

What can be done? Thats what spring cleaning was for

make sure all your heatsink fins and fan blades are clean, turn some fans up if needed or move pc to a cooler area, under tables is a killer for heat

Really enjoying the weather!
My idle temps rise same amount as room temp. If they were rising more it's time to clean filters... and if that doesn't do it coolers and fans are next in line... But to be fair, haven't had to clean coolers or fans sense I started using filters and positive case pressure
