i was expecting it, but now its here.

18th April 2006 my case will be heard in court. i um unsure at the moment on weather to attend court or just plead guilty by post.

not looking forward to it, i am expecting 6 points (lose license have to retake tests:( )

more info!

summons for what? speeding THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!111 or something else?

How come, I missed it the first time round methinks.

We pay for our own actions at the end of the day. We have to think ourselves lucky sometimes that nobody else pays for our actions, if you know what I mean.

Get over to http://www.pepipoo.com and post up the in the forums. There's a good chance the summons (well, the supporting paperwork) is full of holes.

already there with my thread up ;)

the last post is all the infromation about the summons.

i got caught doing 58 in a 30 in which i have now slowed right down. it realy affected me getting caught. i am 100% a safer driver now

Pleeding guilty is the only way to be honest.

They might be leinient due to the conditions and the fact it's your first offence. How long are you off till your 2 years is up?

At the end of the day though it's 58 in a 30. Unless they haven't proof of equipment calibration etc, you're gonna get the full wack.

A guy I work with just went to court for 57 or 58 in a 30. However that was in a temporary speed limit on a dual carriageway (coming from Festival park as you approach the roadworks on the A500). He got 3 points and £170 fine.

Was it on a dual carriageway or a single carriageway road? If its a residential area I imagine you'd get a bit ******.

I'd go to court, suited up, and apologise.

thats the thing. it is just feilds each side, and about 300meters from where i got caught it goes to NSL :(

i know its my fault and i am going to take what is given to me. at the end of the day there is no way that i can prove to them that it really has affected me and i have slowed down a lot since.

i will just have to hope i dont get 6 points but i recon i will.

i am 8 months off my 2 years :( (idiot i know)

Good lad :)

It's good you've slowed down now but it doesn't make a blind bit 'o difference from the fact you shouldn't have been speeding back then, either :)

Hopefully you'll get off lightly! You never know!

Did you know that was the speedlimit there?

I know of a few places like this, it's a 30/40 zone with nowt but fields around and up ahead it goes to nsl. Unlucky dude, I remember my driving instructor telling me that when I get close - I'm talking a few metres here - then I can start to gradually increase my speed so as not to hold up traffic.

Not waiting till the sign will lead to a load of tailgaters and dodgy overtakes. They certainly hold up traffic but only because there are too many impatient people on the roads not willing to even make an attempt at doing the limit.

This is a no win situation, follow the limit and have people drive dangerously around you or speed up early and risk getting caught way over a silly speed limit which will change ~10s down the road

If you learn from it and become a better, safer driver then take it as a positive experiance.

I got six points for doing 99mph on a dual carriageway 8 years ago, I was a right race-driver in those days, it woke me right up and I've never been more than about 10 over the limit ever since, usually I am the one obeying the limit in a 30 zone, upsetting other idiots.

I was caught a couple years back doing 67mph in a 40mph built up zone, was caught by an unmarked van at the side of the road. I recieved a court summons but in the end i just pleaded guilty by post and recieved 3 points and a £200 fine. Reason i pleaded guilty by post is the fact that i am a young driver driving the car in my sig i i reckoned if i went to court the judge would just slam me for more.

dress smartly and go in person. when youre asked about mitigating circumstances - look sorry and tell it as it was.

I thought 58 in a 30 (SP30) would be 3pts + fine as you weren't doing 30 over the limit? Are you expecting 6pts + fine for this one offence?

Edit: Or is it 30mph over the limit = disqualification? Confused, someone clear this up for me:p
