72mph in a 50mph zone... gets 3 points and a £40 fine
71mph in a 50mph zone... gets 3 points, £500 fine + £35 costs

both done by 25yr old males driving Honda Integra Twincam 16v (135bhp) cars

obviously you get a harsher slap on the wrist if you take it to court and found guilty but why are the fines always so much higher?!

on there is one person who was doing 57 in a 30 and got 6 points and a fine.

but people doing 60 in a 30 got 2 week ban plus costs no points. i would rather the ban tbh

Yeah but on that website it says 26-35mph over the limit is 5/6pts + fine. How is it determined whethers its 5 or 6pts? Speed? Judge? Unless I'm reading it all wrong :confused:

The summons says you were caught by camera, but the witness statement says a (laser?) gun...

Have you spoken to a brief?

If there is a mistake in the summons, he may be able to get you off...

Section 89 provides:
’(1) A person who drives a motor vehicle on a road at a speed exceeding a limit imposed by or under any enactment to which this section applies shall be guilty of an offence. (2) A person prosecuted for such an offence shall not be liable to be convicted solely on the evidence of one witness to the effect that, in the opinion of the witness, the person prosecuted was driving the vehicle at a speed exceeding a specified limit. (3) The enactments to which this section applies are - (a) any enactment contained in this Act. . . ‘

where would i stand using that?? there is only 1 witness statement in my summons
