Sumsung Spinpoint difference?

How much of a difference in speed will I see transfer rates etc when my Samsung SpinPoint F3 1 TB arrives and ive installed it?

Im currently using an old Maxtor DiamondMax 10 3.5in 160GB SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive 6G160E0, 7200RPM, 8MB Cache, RoHS Compliant, OEM and decided to change cause its quite noisey now! :<

This is my boot drive obviously and I was wondering if i could simply just run norton ghost and copy the entire old hdd on to the new Samsung Spinpoint then simply plug my new drive in to my old drives sata slot and use it that way!?

if i was you id reinstall you get a better benefit that way. its a pain

i recon you'll notice a fair difference i found my Maxtor very slow compared to other drives
