Just a quick question.

I am going to Zante, Greece, last week in June and I was wondering what factor suncream I would require.

I am quite dark however I have pale skin but in the sun I turn brown, not red.

I am thinking of a 15 with a 10 after several days.

Wise or bad move?

Cheers!

factor 20 regularly applied, make sure it has a 5 star UVA rating. it's UVA that does the lasting damage.

How can you be dark but have pale skin ?? Surely you are either dark or pale skinned  Anyway I have pretty olive skin and tan well but I always use factor 25 and come back with a good tan. When Im going to the Carribean then I use a factor 30.

anything less than 15 is pretty much a waste of time, your skin will not build up a 'resistance' to the sun over the time you're there!
as people have advised look at the uva rating (i know both 'simple' and the superdrug brand 'soltan' are both 5*, better than nivea etc) as well as just the factor.
i know it's well known advice, but everyone ignores it - be sun aware, don't go out between 11-3, cover up when necessary, don't burn, reapply sunscreen hourly (and after swimming)
skin cancer IS the most common form of cancer and long term sun exposure DOES cause it
