Sundays

I get the feeling this scene isn’t played out in the rest of the country so how’s Sunday for you?
Sundays are madness for us, but we almost always get a roast in.

We do #1 to rugby in the mornings, #2 park run. Home for a quick lunch, then swimming club followed by diving by which point its ~16:00. Home - put the roast on that I prepare Saturday night with clever usage of timers on our ovens and air fryer (for the perfect roasties!) - for a walk around the village and to the pub. Where we're on the clock and have a quick drink before heading back for a (usually) lovely family roast.

Its utter madness but it works and we've got it running like clockwork!

My grandparents always had them this way when I was young. It was to take the edge off your appetite as meat was expensive.
That's generally how they seem to have been intended until this latest generation.
Same for soaking them in gravy, which is why they're so good at mopping up, but instead people now whine about how I make their nice crispy puds all soggy....

I think that was the proverbial one he prepared earlier (a la blue peter), but Doesn't Sweden have an analogue though - roast reindeer , salmon ...?

Sunday roast died with boomer generation, people(parents included) could afford a joint of beef, and knew how to cook (pre Aunt Bessie / air-fryer)
Starmers new beef import deal from the USA might help resurrect the dream.

We do a roast like dinner most weeks. It's not that much of a faff (around an hour), we are 50% vegetarian though so generally not a joint but rather Chicken breast seasoned and wrapped in bacon, yorkshires, roast potatoes and roast veg.
