Not many Sunderland fans get on here fella , I think they are all on readytogo.net , still in a state of tumesence at the sight of Alan Shearer limping off yesterday.
One or two do show their faces now and again , to be fair to them.

As derby games go I think that was the biggest kick in the teeth you could have had , a real game of two halfs to coin a phrase.

Joking and bias aside I think the whole running of the club has been a shambles and Murray should be crucified.
The easter weekend would have been an apt time to nail him to the cross , pity he was in the carribean at the time though...

To be honest I do have a sense of pity for some sunderland fans , it cant be easy to keep turning up and a crowd of over 40k is commendable , but on the other hand getting the bus window bricked yesterday by a bunch of kids giving it all the 2-1 gestures quickly disapates any sympathy I may have.

12 points in a season is disgraceful , but if it makes you feel any better if you add that 12 to the 19 you got in your previous premier league season then 31 points would relegate you anyway.

I shall end my patronising post by reminding you of the song the sunderland fans lovingly serenaded us with for a quarter of the match:
"Shearer , whats the score , Shearer , Shearer whats the score"

I follow the Toon and I was obviously happy with the result on Monday. I have no great love for Sunderland for obvious reasons, but how there has been no uprising lately amazes me.

How Bob Murray has lasted is beyond me. He has no passion for the club, no committment and I feel the current dire straits of the club can be laid squarely at his feet. If he had an ounce of decency and respect for the club, he would step down. He serves no purpose for the club, rarely coughs up for good players and no player would want to join them. Who was the last big name signing they had ?

He is about as much use as a condom machine in the Vatican.

shearer whats the score lol.. some idiot sent me that in a message when sunderland went 1-0 up. I got 4msgs in the space of 3mins when they scored basically taking the whatsit :p

I kept to my word and said nothing til full time.. even when our goals came flooding in (i got no msgs then like) i said nowt.

soon as the whistle went... my phone was red hot, i was ripping people apart :p was good

pretty much my thoughts, iirc the last signing was jon stead, and we all saw how well he did, 1 goal in 30 games

Fat Berb owns the club though.
As much as he's hated he wont give it up until he gets what he thinks is a reasonable offer.
He's boxed clever so far by pricing it artificially high , this coupled with the debt and the very limited scope to generate a profit is scaring off potential buyers.

Making a profit from a football club is very difficult in the best of circumstances.
It will be nigh on impossible at sunderland unless the buyer is looking very , very long term.
Ideally they need a sugar daddy like Roman or the impressive Gibson at Boro who can right off any losses and keep the club as almost a plaything.
Clubs outside of London or the big boys of the north west do not have the pull or attraction.

Celebrity drunk driver Niall Quinn is rumoured to be interested but seems to lack the funds.

We'll see what happens.

I have just heard a good rumour today that Roy Keane will be the new sunderland manager if Niall Quinns takeover goes ahead......the price on him to get the sunderland job went from 16/1 to 11/4 at an online bookies today...im glad i had a bit on 16/1

Roy Keane hates Niall Quinn doesnt he

well i wouldnt go as far as hate but they fell out during the world cup.....i hope they have patched up there differences but an awful lot of money must have been put on keane to be the next manager for the price to drop from 16/1 to 11/4.....some of the bookmaers in sunderland are only offering 4/6 for keane now

Had a little skim through the sunderland forums and found nowt about the Keane link.
Nowt on the skunkers board either , which is where they normally come to brag.

Niall Quinn has spoken though http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=380652&CPID=8&clid=56&lid=&title=Quinn+confirms+interest
I do not know how much they are going to look for but my worries now would not be financial at this stage unless Sunderland go mad,
I have no idea what that means.

When I was up there it was like being on a magic carpet when things were going well.
More drink drive talk.

Newcastle get 53,000 and they are a pretty big club. Everybody thinks they are far bigger than Sunderland but I know if this club goes right we will be bigger than Newcastle
:D

And this is why i have no sympathy for the unwashed next door.

They are unbelieveable, they just dont stop.

Bigger than Hartlepool, better than Darlington, and thats all they ever will be.

4-1 in your own backyard, goodnight, god bless, good riddance.

Very short memories do our dear skunk neighbours have, before the keegan and arrival your average gate was about 14,000 dropping below 10,000 for some home matches ,or dont your memories go back before John Hall and the magpie group took over, also didnt Sir John try to buy Sunderland before newcastle correct me if i am wrong

Thats what i mean they fell out pretty bad from what i remember reading in his book

He still does, Eamonn Dunphy who wrote Keane's book called him a creep live on RTE after coverage of a Champions League match. Quinn is a ***** along with Mick McCarthy and McAteer. Keane does hate them all. I have no doubts at all. If you respect Keane, he'll respect you. Cross him and he'll not forget it. Keane managing Sunderland is not going to happen.
