Sunderland AFC

It would appear that Quinn intends to BECOME the next manager himself......any change at boardroom level is good and if thats what he wants he can have it.

I never saw that enormous fat bloke with NUFC on his belly on Monday. Did you keep your shirt on Vandle

Personal insults are all I have left :(

Attendances in the back end of the 80's - early 90's were well down.
Tbh it followed a trend right through football if I remember and the team was in a poor state.
Sales of players like Gazza , Waddle and Beardsley didnt help matters much as the money was not redirected onto the team.
The strangle hold McKeag and co had on the club was getting too much and regime change was called for.
The club was stuck at the bottom of the old second division and near bankrupt.
Fans protests and boycotts helped oust the old guard and attendances were around 15,000 towards the end of Ardiles reign , as we were destined to drop to the 3rd division.
Obviously this didnt hapen and the club took off again when Hall took over , there were rumours he had enquired about the sale of sunderland but thats all I know.

Does this situation remind you of something a little closer to home right now?

Oh , and lets quit with the name calling lads - we dont want this thread closed.
If we need to name call , take it to Skunkers - threads are never closed and bans are banned :)

Very short memories do our dear skunk neighbours have, before the keegan and arrival your average gate was about 14,000 dropping below 10,000 for some home matches ,or dont your memories go back before John Hall and the magpie group took over, also didnt Sir John try to buy Sunderland before newcastle correct me if i am wrong

Is that the best you can come up with?

You club is beyond rubbish, combine this season and the last time you were here points together and you'd still be in relegation, thats how pathetic you lot truely are.

The worst team in EPL history...FACT.

An even shorter memory that those attendances yo-yo'd and you will only pick the lowest to dis-credit.

In 1987 when i 1st attended we were hitting gates between 20-30k, but you wont remember them ones will you, trashes you idiotic bitter and downright lame argument. That was before keegan you know, something Mackems cannot handle though.

We have the 7th all time attendance record over 100 years, so lets not just pick a copule of season before Keegan arrived you bitter SMB.

May aswell post this in this thread.

Basically we have tickets to the Sunderland v Arsenal game on Bank Holiday Monday (It was a Saturday when we applied) being a 5.15 KO trains are out of the question (last one goes at 23.58, but gets in a 7 the next morning :( ) so it looks like I'm driving.

So is there parking at the Stadium of Light or somewhere close?

Yeah , there is loads.
Stadium is right next a business park Id presume you can park there although Ive never taken a car there , the sunderland lads will tell you better.

You can fly from stanstead for about £30.

Flying's not a bad idea, I presume you mean to Newcastle? Although the last flight is too early so would mean staying up there and coming back the next morning, which would mean more beer :D

Yeah , you can get the metro from the airport to the stadium of light , only chnaging once.
Although tbh I would hit the drink in Newcastle then head to sunderland about 2ish.

Straight in with both feet again i can not argue with the facts of how bad we have been this season but if you bothered to read your own post i was trying to put across the fact that with an injection of cash and ambitious owners at the club everything Quinn said about us being a bigger club is possible, the fan base is huge at Sunderland is huge and that cannot be denied.....

John Hall must have seen that potential because he tried to buy Sunderland before he bought you lot,I was pointing out the fact that before the arrival of John Hall and his money your team were going absolutly nowhere.

So you first went to the match in 1987 and you have had a season ticket since that time? If not how regular do you go games?

Right, question my loyalty as a fan, becuase thats all mackems can ever do to Geordies. I wouldn't even question yours, it doesn't bother me in the slightest, dirty mackems don't conern me, always 2nd best.

Club envy, just like your manhood you don't measure up, and you don't like the big boys you're sometimes are allowed to shower with.

Can't be denied the huge fanbase? Thats a luagh, where is it? Where's it been for the last 3 seasons?

You can't even fill your ground for the most important match of the season, thats how big a fanbase you've got.

Why dont you just resort to personal insults, shows the mentality of the boy....

Your type of attitude is why an awful lot of people in this country hate geordies,i have some very good mates who are black and whites but who are loyal football fans and follow there team no matter what, and speak good football sense, and the banter with them is good,

So yes i am questioning your loyalty as a fan probably just another plastic fan,all clubs have them even us there is no need to be ashamed

Awful lot of people? Who? The inbred population of Sunderland? LOL

You wouldn't know banter if it came and filled your stadium for you.

Call me what you want, if i wanted to be a fake fan i'd be supporting Man Utd, not a team thats won f^%$ all.

Besides, when i say its in my blood, it is, i've a family member who's played for Newcastle, so question my roots, i will still pity you and your kind.

Mackem baiting is one of my favourite past times but this is getting rather petty now.

Your the one who can't handle the defeat, instantly bring up pre-keegan attendances, desperatly clinging on to anything you possibly can.

Unfortunatly we've heard it all before, a million times over.

You'll still be using the 'were you there before keegan' jibe in ten years time when youre in the conference.

Unfortunatly for you, this mag was, so the one and only jibe you've got, just like you, doesn't wash :)

Yeah but you probably were not and wouldnt admit to it anyway,
but for all the multi millions you have spent and the great sucess you have achieved in regards trophies...Oh sorry there isnt any trophies is there
