Sunny Beach, Bulgaria?

I used to go here in my teens (over 20 years ago) and unless I was blind to it, it was nothing like that back then.

We used to stay in Sunny Beach and sometimes Nessebar(sp?).

if your daily attire is tracksuit bottoms and a food stained football shirt it should be great for you

if you are a normal human being you will hate it..the flight alone will make you want to open the cabin doors mid flight and do the rest of the world a favour by causing the plane to fly into the ground

Ive been to Bulgaria several time including Elenite, Nessebar (very nice stayed in a locals house) and Sunny beach. This was about 25 years ago when it was probably more soviet bloc stype than it is now.
Find somewhere with a nice large pool as the sea was crammed full with large jellyfish and I got several painfull stings!

Bulgaria has taken over from Turkey as the dirt-cheap destination of choice for a certain sub-set of the population. Used to be Dalaman and Bodrum, now it's Sunny Beach. Tho Turkey's starting to pick up again.

I'm speaking as someone who has worked in an airport for the past 6 years and can guess which flight they're on just by looking at them.

I went to Sofia on my stag do very recently, a lot less Brits there thankfully! It was a nice city for a 3 night stay.

I like to think we were a bit more respectful than the sorts that go to Sunny Beach.

last year we got into Newcastle from Italy at the same time a flight from turkey did

we collected out bags then walked through customs

the entire turkey flight was corralled off then the customs guy shouts out...we will be standing here with black bags, empty all your cigarettes that are over the limit into these bags or we will search everyones luggage and you will be charged the respective duty...you would not believe how many cartons of tabs were left behind by them...they must have thought they would all just waltz through and nobody would check, there must have been thousands of them

The last few times I've been to Turkey the flight home has gotten in lateish and unless you make an effort to go over to the something to declare desk and pick up the phone then there's no one around customs.

No I didn't have a quicky in the lift with the hotel prostitute - it's a jellyfish sting, honest dear!
