I agree on the first one its a nice shot, only time I ever see sunrises/sets like that is when I'm stuck in work, when I actively go out looking for them I get the bland overcast ones 
If it were me I would have liked to try and get more of that tree in the foreground as a silhouette against the sunset in a portrait style shot, filling the frame with a nice sunset as a background, if you get what I mean.

Love the first one!! In #2, composition is spot on and would normally work, but because the sky is on fire and so intense the tree is just swamped by it your eyes just wander straight past it. I'm no pro, but toning down the oranges might help it slightly? Sunrise of the year so far and I'm suggesting toning it down... 
I think I would like to see #1 much bigger to appreciate it, as it is It doesn't do so much for me but I think thats just a size issue. The lack of tree on the right side seems to make it unbalanced compositionally.
#2 looks to be great, but I think the tree needs to take up more image space to balance the intense sky. You probably don't need to much of the black bottom.
