Ever since about 25yrs old(5years ago) I have suffered with sunspots every summer. I think the reason being is cos the world is changing, sunrays ect, because I use to be able to get real brown in it summer, but if I try to now, I get real itchy spots/lumps and it seems to get worse every summer:mad:

Anyone else suffer from sunspots, that you didn't get a few yrs ago, and do you believe that its todo with the world changing?

Its more likely to do with your skin changing then the world mate. Could be anything from pollen irritating your skin to a weird sort of heatrash/oil buildup/allergy to sun cream etc.

Its just excess melanin or whatever thats released as a defense to the suns UV light.

People who tan easily tend to get them and show with age.

Solar dermititis, or heat/sun rash.http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/facts/sunrash.htm

I got it the first time when I was about 14 (am 26 now). It can be maddeningly itchy.

I've now grown away from simple sun/sea/sand holidays and haven't had it for years - I care much less about tanning than I used to. Sometimes, I get a spot or two on my earlobes of all places, from sun exposure...!

Use plenty of sun cream, wear light longer-sleeved/legged clothes, and take it easy.

This summer I'm likely to get more sun than I have for a while so we'll see if it comes back - you just have to take it easy and not go mad for tanning (though I do love to bask in the sun).

One thing to try is to increase your exposure to strong sun gradually - don't go all out suddenly on the first day of your holiday.

I think im similar - im from a Mediterranean country where I would go back every Summer during the school holidays for 4-8 weeks and be in the sun a lot, and would come back very brown.

Now im 23 and with a job, I've only been able to go in recent years for about 2 weeks, and seem to get red a lot more easily, and have new sun spots every year. Like Sara, I don't really care about tanning as much as I used to. It used to be my main aim to come back to the UK with a tan so all the girls would be after me :D but now I just go to have fun with the GF ;)

Aye as a kid I used to see the sun a lot and get really quite brown - I think possibly my skin just went a bit mad after having been away from it for too long.

I think it's the sudden onset of sun which really sets it off!

We haven't had much sun yet, but the back of my hands and neck are terrible, much worse then it was last summer, even tho Ive been taken piriton, that worked well last year at keeping the spots at bay. But this year the piriton dont seem to be working as well:mad:

That does sound pretty sensitive! I assume you've seen a doctor about it? Might be worth trying a different brand of antihistamine...

No but my sisters husband went to the docs a few days ago for the same prob, and he was given antihistamines tablets, and I tried a few of his, but they dont seem to have much effect.
