supcommander

Really easy to get into if you've ever played a strategy game before. It's total annihilation, 20 times bigger with pretty graphics. Win tbh! :D

i had never palyed TA so it was a little different to anything i was used to but its really good once you have more of a grasp on what is going on.

the UI can be changed by holding Alt and pressing the Up key. the new UI they added is much better imho.

I wouldn't just think "If I like TA i'll like SupCom". I loved TA to bits, but I can't get on with SupCom.

My biggest gripe is that it's just far too hard to keep total control of your units. They almost seem "too intelligent" and wander off on their own, away from their group, to pick on single targets.

Also the zoom is badly implemented. In order to be able to zoom out far enough to watch the battle develop, you have to make your units turn into little icons. It's really not much fun watching *Icon #1* beating the life out of *Icon 6* while *Icon 4* moves in a circle.

You could always get one of the size/scale mods that makes the game more detailed, but to be honest I think its correct like it is.

If you want to watch the action close up you can watch the battles, but if you want to strategise then you need to look away from the action and see the big picture.
SupCom is about building tactics rather than unit tactics unlike CoH.
The battles were designed to be BIG and on a strategic level rather than CoH which is more of singular unit based tactical game.

Save zooming in and watching the pretty lasers and the nice water effects for the replays of when I pwned you.

Yeh I have to agree with pod. I haven't had a problem yet with them being too intelligent (not played a huge amount though). If anything it's just right as you can just zoom out, select a load and throw them over towards the enemy. Then you can go do something else, which you will need to when it gets busy) and they can look after themselves until you can give them further orders.
