it's an entry level board that will run the 5600 no problems (i have built one in the past with the same mobo, so i'm also speaking from experience)Thank you. Is that a reasonably sound motherboard in terms of VRM/heat etc?
the ABN series are very very good PSUs if you ignore the efficiency rating (i have used these in the past as well, so, again, speaking from experience)I would have liked a gold rated PSU but I fully understand that at this budget, beggars can't be choosers![]()
£700ish can get you on AM5 with a 9060XT.
Chuck in a few MM purchases and maybe even less.
this is the 8gb version
Normally fixable, depends on how bad it is bent.only caveat is a couple of bent pins. Not sure if that’s fixable or not. Its a Z690 msi.

i would also have no issue running a 5700x3d on this board too, so in terms of "futureproofing" this board is absolutely fine for gaming workloads
now would i want to run a 5950x on this board...definitely not, but that's not your use scenario, so that's no issue

Would the only upgrade path with that motherboard be a 5700x3d later down the line if it was required?

what rob said5800x3d technically, which is approximately as fast as a 7600X
Just been pricing up and £780 gets you a 7600 on an A620m with 32GB 6000, 1TB NVME and a 9060XT (same case & PSU as above)
I'd imagine that tactical usage of 2nd hand/MM for the CPU and RAM will get you closer to £700
They've been steadily rising as everyone on AM4 has the same idea to max out the platform. The 5700x3d is now going for about £200 which is more than low end (but just as fast/faster) 7000 & 9000 chips.
My suggestion of AM5 is because you either go with the max you'll ever get on AM4 or buy the bottom end of AM5 and that'll last waaaaay longer for the relatively small difference in price.

i would get a b650/b850 board insteadThe only thing that would concern me a bit is the a620m motherboard, do you guys think it should be alright?
