Super budget £600 build?

nope, only other cars would be the 9060xt big brother , the 9070 (non XT) which can be had for £500 but is 49% faster...unless you look out on MM for 2nd hand. Seen a few 9070xt £500 ish (which would be a 66% improvement), but no real 9070 gpu's...might have to wait till refreshes before you see more coming back on mkt (or new lowering in price..amd would have to do that to compete with nvidia launching cards with more vram)

i use relative performance in the below(not userbenchmark, which is massively biased..set it to 9060xt 16gb as base(so that's 100%...9070 is 149%, so 49% faster as example)

I'm all over the place here, I meant the 5060ti 16GB

9060XT/5060Ti are basically even in raster @ 1440p but the 9060XT is 20% slower in RT (1080p)
9060XTs are about £330, 5060Ti about £400 - personally I'd go AMD but YMMV

I've been doing some research and comparing the 9060xt and the 5060ti 16gb. I think DLSS wins it over really... And maybe driver stability too? Might be worth the extra £100 ish...

There's literally 12 5060ti's 16GB all around the same price... How are you supposed to know which model is the best in terms of performance fan noise etc

Driver stability, no you must be confused the 5000 series cards don't have that at all.

I'll go for the XFX swift 9060xt dual since I know for sure it'll fit in the mATX case. Hopefully it isn't a super loud card

Basically I put my money where my mouth is
I wouldn't recommend something I haven't used/would never consider using

For those otherwise sceptical (and assuming this hasn't been linked yet, still a bit knackered from the gym so might have missed it):

It reviews well too, probably one of the best "budget" PSU's on the market, and outside of the efficiency rating it's superior to a number of gold rated units funnily enough.

Good to hear, I did go for the 650 version but I imagine that should be just as well built as the 550

Usually they use the same components within certain wattage ranges, I don't imagine that would change shy of a jump into 750-850w + areas and there isn't anything lower than 550w for that specific platform last I checked.

It's a good PSU, I've recommended it multiple times on here and @tamzzy having personal experience is a big positive too.

It's fully wired/non modular which might be a bit of an arse for building but it's enough of a saving to be worth it, and I've managed with fully wired M-ATX builds using PSU's that are infamous for having very long and unwieldly cables such as (my beloved spaghetti monster) Bitfenix Formula Gold 650w.

Just a quick one guys, I'm in the process of building this system now. The reset switch header is automatically installed on the fan controller header, ive never seen this before and all case button headers have always been onto the motherboard. Any idea why this is?

Case is the montech air 100 argb matx

Also having a nightmare installing the WD Black sn850x. The motherboard nvme slot has a heatsink so I removed that and put the WD black in, screwed it down with the screw but it has some movement and it isn't secure like an nvme drive would be. It bounces slightly. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here

Not sure which motherboard you're using, but you have the standoff in the right position, right? Usually they're pre-installed in the right one, but sometimes you have to move it.

You're right, the pre-installed mount for the nvme drive was a smaller one, next to the nvme slot to the right there was a taller mount which I unscrewed with the help of some plyers and swapped them around. Fits much better now

As the motherboard (b650 hdv m.2) came with a pre installed heatsink for the nvme slot, can I just leave this off as the sn850x comes with a heatsink anyway

Cheers

most people probably don't use the reset switch so they often use it for changing rgb etc

I'm very surprised that this motherboard doesn't have an arbg header. Not a huge deal as I assume the case controls the fan colors etc

I've just booted on for the first time and we're good to go, fan RGBs are on but non of the case fans are spinning. Probably something I've forgot to plug in somewhere?

Double check your fan wires and make sure the RGB leads as well as the power leads are connected.
