Super Mario Galaxy !

Probably been my most anticipated game this year. Super Paper Mario helped get me right in the mood for this. I think it looks a lot of fun with a new twist to the Mario gameplay and it looks absolutely stunning. Compared to some games on the Wii this looks like it is on a different console.

Surely some of you are hyped for what is by Nintendo's admission the first true sequel to Mario 64?

Wasnt Mario Sunshine a true sequel to Mario 64.

So we have 2 sequels now. Unless you mean it's carrying ont he same story line or something?

Anyways, I'm looking forward to this, I loved 64, LOVED sunshine, and I'm pretty sure i'll love this

That's the point. Sunshine fell so far from Mario 64 that many people disregarded it. In saying Galaxy is the true sequel, Nintendo are holding it up as a Mario game worthy of following on from Mario 64. I so hope they're right :)

Mario 64 was and is by todays standards such a damn dull game. Perhaps it didn't help that I played Banjo kazooie first which absolutly blew Mario 64 to pieces (Much much better level design, better / more varied gameplay, better graphics and INFINATLY better audio!).

Everything seemed like such a chore in that game, I never got very far. I don't recall any fond memories of it, thats for sure.

I hope its not more of the same.

Does look gorgeous.

Mario Sunshine kept me busy on the GC for a long time. This looks miles better too.

One thing that cant be denied is that nintendo polish their games to perfection 99% of the time. Its rare to find glitches or bugs in Ninty games

I WANT THIS GAME I WANT THIS GAME I WANT THIS GAME I WANT THIS GAME !!!

:D

This and withcer on the pc will keep me going for a while. Screen shots above look great :)

All I can say to tthat is HA!!

I loved the Banjo games, but they were so far away from Mario 64 it isn't even worth debating. So I won't :P

Mario 64 is a bench mark game and one of the most influential games of all time. No matter how good this is I don't think it can be beaten! (a bit like Goldeneye and then Perfect Dark).

My only concern is that the world hopping isn't just this versions gimmick. I would have liked proper worlds like on Mario 64 but I'm keeping an open mind. :)

Like the level of a few platforms over lava... woo, great world!

I'll stop now..... :o;)

Yeah but you got to admit there were some brilliant ones!

It was fun just to mess about in them and look for every secret/objective, rather than just fly through them style levels.

Edit I haven't played the game for ages but just from my memory

1: The Ghost Mansion
2: Bo Bomb Mountain
3: The Egyptian land
4: The Ice mountain
5: Big/Small World
6: Magic Carpet
7: Big Clock
8: The one were the water raises and lowers.
9: The crashed canyon world.

Mario sunshine had some great secret levels(best part of the game in fact) when you jumped into warp pipes. From some of the videos of Galaxy it looks like smaller planets have that same style to them, its going to be superb its Mario.

From the vids ive seen it seems to be a mix of the new planetoid game play and the old style levels last seem in mario 64.

Looking forward to this, will definately be picking it up on release day.

Not sure if its worth picking up a component cable as well for this, I have an RGB one already but unsure if the move to component will improve the picture that much to justify the £20.
