Super Scary 'supernatural' movies.

After watching it on Channel 4 a couple days ago,

Final Destination Trilogy.

Not exactly scary in terms of ghosts and all that, but it does make you feel very suspenseful about what will happen next since this trilogy has a very interesting take on the theme dealing with the haunting presence of "death" and how you cannot escape it regardless of what measures you take. Much of the deaths in these films are very intuitive and ridiculously over-the-top.

REC -best scary movie i've seen in a long while.

Gotta agree with that.
Horror is my least favourite genre so I'm proper hard to please, but lets have it right. There is only one 'supernatural' horror movie worth it's salt (despite how cliche you may say it is) to which all else are pretenders.
(lights touchpaper and stands well back)
The Exorcist.
Freaks me out everytime I see it.

Shutter - the Japanese version. One of the most scary films I've seen, and I've seen a lot! It's not things jumping out of corners and big scary monsters, it's far more subtle than that. The whole film is imbued with a sense of dread and creeping fear.

And if Gilly comes in this thread and says 'Alien' I'm going to track him down and whack him over the head with a pliant haddock.

shutter is a thai horror, not japanese

Shutter is excellent, watched it last week and really enjoyed it. Watched the American remake earlier this evening and it was nowhere near as good, had no suspense or atmosphere, and wasn't nearly as scary. Hot blonde in it though. :p

I've always enjoyed The Ring 1 and 2 and The Grudge 1 and 2. Never seen the Japanese Ringu movies, but I've got the Japanese version of The Grudge and it's very good.
