*** Super SF4 Tournament PS3 ***

Can't say i've ever seen you even playing SSFIV pseudo despite being online all the time. Sort it out!
Actually did a fair bit last weekend and got the first part of FADC sorted (I think) so Im getting there...

Ill definitely hunt for you when your next online but RDR/Club is so gonna take up my time...

ps3ud0

watched first round and went exactly as expected.. full of reversal spam, unsafe combo's, and tick throws. guessing rest of it is the same... super online fighter 4?

doesn't matter whether it was played online or offline, my comment was based on their playstyle... nor did the outcome as they both play very similar.

Ojste, we do have a similar playstyle only cos we play eachother quite a bit, and if he improves it forces me too, to keep up, if I improve and start beating him, he will improve. He's far better though at picking up new characters and adapting.

You should have entered and shown us all how it's done. ;)

my point was that both your playstyles are geared to be good online, you both use lots of online based shenanigans, which dont fly offline. also i dont think my entry would have affected the outcome.

i dont want to derail the thread any further and i do think its a great effort for organising a tourney :)

Ah, yes I agree with that and I'm always trying to help people lose those bad habits (Hi Vian :P).

Most of the OcUK lot abuse throws and high/low/crossup "mixups" that are far harder to read and react to online.

But they only ever play online so what do you expect? They adapt their game to thrive in that environment and it's not fair to penalise them for it.

That's what it comes down to ultimately, whether you actually play online or offline and why you play the game, for fun or for competitions? Since 99% of my playing time has been online and the 1% offline, I am naturally adapted to using any trick in the book to winning online. When I tested myself offline though, in the recent tournys in Manchester against what most would say are a hardcore SF4 bunch, I reached the knockouts both times so that puts me at the bottom of the 'top half' of the players there. That is actually far BETTER then I would rate myself.

The 'bad habits' that players might pick up from playing online, aren't really bad habits if that's all you ever do (play online I mean).

Also ojste, I would honestly fancy my chances against you as much offline as online. Against someone like Margaret when he's using Sagat, again I would expect him to own me offline as much as he does online. :p

Lol, it still hasnt occured to me in why you did not enter the tourny when i do see you online very often playing the game, last time i played you was with tony the other week :p and from what i can remember your block clearly wasnt adapting to the pace of adon, would have been good if you joined im sure since your an experienced player, oh well maybe next time im still up for casuals anytime :D

Edit: If your up for some casuals later on i shal definately send you a fight req :D just hoping i get feedback from you if you want to play then im expecting you to jump in and il make sure there wont be no lag from my side :D

the bad habits are bad habits regardless unless you only play online. both your particular playstyles abuse latency and its very effective. pick a char with strong reversal (DP style move), ryu/adon/sagat etc. then procede with tick throws, reversal spam, double shoryu shenanigans

my ability to play has nothing to do with this, i just have very little respect for playstyles that are tailored for lag. its the same from sc4/tekken when people abused slow lows.

and for the record... i dont care about losing. i will play all day long when im losing to someone as long as im learning from it. i have played several people who have destroyed me and i still enjoyed it.

king-core... i mostly ignore all your invites because i know exactly what to expect and i get nothing from it. and lol i didn't enter because of time. i wasnt gonna change my plans to accommodate for tor the tourney, and i didnt want to waste other peoples time incase that happened. i also already stated that i dont think i would have won... this is nothing to do with my sf ability, its just my viewpoint.

Just wanted to say gratz to King core on the win :)

I should be round later in the week for some casuals..haven't been on that much lately due to revision.
I got exams tomorrow and Wednesday - wish me luck guys!

i would like to say gratz to king core on winning the tourney. although i agree there were too many random dp reversals, but still a good game to watch.

as for Kreeeee, i am welcomed for anyone to correct my bad habits of firing many random moves and overhead, and over reliant of tick throw tactics and high/low mix ups.

my style is tended stay mid/long range mostly, and then burst forward to try and score a knockdown, and then go for a safe jump cross-up and start throwing from there. this is not because i play mostly online, or i dont have a starring partner offline, this is because thats how i play generally. i will upload some of the matches i had recently with Artheas and Margaret, so you lot can see how crap i am.

i think my main weakness probably is i have very crap footsies and sometime decision making, therefore can be easily zoned out of most games, thats why i have a lot of problems against mar's guile and bison.

Chun doesn't have a safe jump crossup.

Marge's Guile is free at the moment even with my lack of rog practice, but he'll build it up.
